| personal info: | This past year saw Guanghui complete Phase I of its US$1 billion plus liquid natural gas refinery and start transportation of LNG to Central and South China. Guanghui has also entered the car sales business for Henan, Guangxi and Xinjiang, and, at the beginning of the year, opened 710, 000 square meters of its exhibition center business to catch Chinese trade to Central Asia. With sales last year of US$1.1 billion (2002: US$843 million) and paying taxes of US$40 million (2002: US$30 million), Guanghui has 23,300 employees. The former army officer started with trade with the former Soviet Union, before establishing itself in the stone business and then entering real estate development itself, soon to dominate the market. Sun is currently reading an EMBA at Tianjin University. |
