23 November 2006 saw forty international luxury travel suppliers and 2500 luxury travel consumers, travel and lifestyle media and luxury travel buyers descend on Shanghai to attend the inaugural China Luxury Travel Fair™.
CLTF 2006 provided the platform for international luxury travel suppliers to meet with their consumers, the media and selected buyers. As the first luxury travel exhibition in China, CLTF generated significant media interest, giving exhibitors good exposure to their high end consumers. The show attracted both leisure and business luxury travellers, chosen on the basis of their being able to spend US$20,000 per couple for a week’s travel.
Demand for luxury travel is growing fast, but local consumer still find it hard to choose the right luxury travel product. There are too many companies around which claim to sell luxury but at the end of the day just sell an overpriced product. CLTF 2006 set the benchmark high, educating consumers on international standards of luxury travel.
