Rupert Hoogewerf releases "China's Rich List – The Inside Story"

Shanghai, Aug 7. Rupert Hoogewerf today released his sixth book ‘China’s Rich List – The Inside Story’, published in Chinese by Shanghai Lexicographical Publishing House.

“Over the past seven years there has been a revolution in the image of wealth in China”, says Hoogewerf. “The Rich List has played a key part in breaking the taboo about talking about wealth creation.” Since creating the China Rich List in 1999, Hoogewerf’s list, published by Hurun Report, has become an eagerly anticipated annual media event.

Replete with first-hand stories from China’s richest individuals, ‘China’s Rich List – The Inside Story’ sets out for the first time the background leading up to the creation of the first list in 1999 together with the resulting impact on the international and domestic media. In this provocative and engaging book, Hoogewerf tells the story of the rise of modern Chinese capitalism, of the entrepreneurs whose dreams succeeded and are building world-beating companies, and of those entrepreneurs whose dreams crashed down to earth.
