Fifth year anniversary of the Hurun Philanthropy List
Wealth of Top Ten Richest shrinks by US$31 billion25 March 2008, Shanghai. The recent drop in the markets has resulted in 41% or US$31 billion being wiped off the wealth of the top ten of the Hurun Rich List, according to a Hurun Research report released today. Dramatically led by 106 US dollar billionaires, the ninth anniversary edition of the Hurun Rich List has more US dollar billionaires than any country outside the US. 26-year old Yang Huiyan catapulted to the top spot with a personal fortune of US$17.5 billion, followed by Zhang Yin, the richest self-made woman in the world, on US$10 billion. This year’s list has been expanded to 800 people and is proudly presented by Royal Salute.
