Hurun LuxuryMart 2010
Hurun Report hosts the fourth LuxuryMart for world’s elite brands
(21 January 2010, Shanghai) Hurun Report held the fourth annual LuxuryMart, the leading matchmaking platform for luxury brands targeting high net worth Chinese. China is the world’s fastest-growing market for luxury brands, expected to surpass Japan this decade.
150 senior decision-makers from over 70 brands participated from a wide range of industries such as private banks, luxury cars and motorbikes, yachts and jets, luxury drinks, travel, private membership clubs, fashion and luxury real estate, to name but a few. Brands that attended included Rolls-Royce, Ferrari, Ducati, Louis XIII, CITIC Private Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Cadillac, Davidoff, Caran D’Ache, Chang’An Club, Harrods, Dragon Air and many more. During the day each brand had up to fifteen pre-scheduled meetings of twenty minutes each, giving them the opportunity to discuss possible synergies on a personal basis. Coffee breaks and lunch provided plenty of opportunity for additional networking.
The day was kick-started with a short welcome speech by Hurun Report founder Rupert Hoogewerf followed by a keynote speech from Andrew Wu, CEO of LVMH China. "Andrew inspired the participants with his perceptive analysis of the demographic trends behind china's luxury boom, and the interaction of entertainment and luxury” said Rupert Hoogewerf. Brand seminar speakers included Alan Way, Head of Louis XIII Business Unit for Remy Cointreau China. “Alan gave participants an insightful look into the future of China’s growing luxury goods industry” commented Rupert Hoogewerf. Zhu Haiming, General Manager of Silverbase Wines, spoke about the Chinese appetite for top red wines. Gong Yingping, Marketing Director of Bund 18 Real Estate Management Ltd talked about luxury brands and Bund 18. LuxuryMart 2011 will be held on Thursday, 13 January 2011 in Shanghai.
