On 21 May 2005 at Mission Hills Golf Resort in Shenzhen, Hurun
Report hosted the Best Things in Life – Bentley Golf Tournament and
Charity Dinner , the fourth of its Best Things in Life series.
On a perfect May day, eighty entrepreneurs played a round of golf on the
Mission Hills Duval course, with the incentive of winning the Hole In One prize
of a Bentley Continental GT. One shot came to within three inches of the hole,
but the overall prize was not to be.
For the evening's entertainment, 150 entrepreneurs came together
for a gala dinner. Royal Salute offered a highly entertaining whiskey
experience and Christies again chaired the charity auction raising US$60,000,
which Hurun Report and Bentley China donated to the Guangdong Province
Hope Project (a program of China Teenagers Development Fund Organization) for
the building of primary schools in rural areas.
Since April 2004, Hurun Report has raised US$245,000 for
local charity programs through its Best Things in Life series, making this
series the leading charity dinner organiser in China today.
Huang Mengla, one of China's most outstanding violinists and a First Prize
winner at the prestigious Paganini International Violin Competition in Italy in
2002, gave a virtuoso performance playing on a 1793 Lorenzo Storioni violin.
The remaining Best Things in Life this year will take place in
Dalian, Hangzhou, Chengdu and Shanghai.
