Hurun Education released the Hurun Education Top International Schools in China 2021 – ‘cHINA’S TOP INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS, AS VOTED BY THEIR PEERS’

(22 April 2021, Shanghai) Hurun Education, the education platform of Hurun Report Inc., today released the Hurun Education Top International Schools in China 2021, a ranking of the Top 100 international schools in China. This year the list was split into 1. Hurun Education International Schools Accepting Chinese Passport Holders Top 80 and 2. Hurun Education International Schools Open to Non-Chinese Passport Holders Only Top 20. This is the fourth year of the ranking.

As in previous years, the Hurun Education Top International Schools in China is based on a peer to peer review. Between December 2020 and March 2021, Hurun Education surveyed 270 international education experts in China. Hurun Education asked them, in an unprompted question, to recommend up to five schools from each of Eastern China, Southern China, Northern China and Western China that provided – in their opinion – a good all-round education. Hurun Education received 2325 votes in total, an average of 8.6 votes from each respondent. 72% of respondents were school principals or senior teachers, 18% investors, overseas study agents and training institutions, and 10% were from education authorities and specialist education media. 346 schools received votes, up 3% on last year. The rankings refer to international schools in mainland China only.

The schools listed in the Hurun Education International Schools Accepting Chinese Passport Holders Top 80 come from 24 cities in China. 13 years old on average, the schools with longest history are Beijing 21st Century International School, Beijing Huijia Private School and Huamei International School, which are close to 30yrs old. The total number of students in the Top 80 is 90,000, with an average of more than 1,000 in each school.

The schools listed in the Hurun Education International Schools Open to Non-Chinese Passport Holders Only Top 20 came from 7 cities. Set up 21 years ago on average, the oldest schools are ISB and SAS, both close to 40yrs old. The total number of students in the school in the Top 20 is 30,000, with an average of more than 1,300 in each school.
